The last time I went on a vacation with my family was back in 2006.

We went camping. The ex and I were not getting along at all. We had been in one fight after another. It was not a fun time. Then when we came home we got into even more fights and that is when the item was thrown across the room and ended up hitting me in the gut. His side was he was throwing at the thing I was standing in front of but I guess it does not matter much because it was so long ago.

Since leaving though the ex has done a lot of traveling so to speak. Lots of little vacations so to speak. Lots of fun things with the middle monkey.

Since leaving though we on the other hand have done very little traveling and it has not been with the family.

So the fact we get to go on vacation. We get to go camping. I am really excited about that.

I think I am more excited about the fact that I am going on vacation with the family and we are not fighting. Out of all the vacations I have taken in the past with the old family (not sure how else to put it) I am not sure there was a single one where I was actually relaxed about it the way I am this one. We always fought over everything.

When we would go camping. I had to pay for the site, the food, and the wood (basically everything). It was considered a household items and I was responsible for the household items. So whenever we did anything – I had to pay. It was okay because if I didn’t pay – we didn’t go. I love camping. So I was okay with it.

This time though – we are camping with his family. I don’t mind his family. They are not uptight. They are fun. I enjoy them.

For the 1st time in a really long time – I am happy about a vacation.

Now the stressful part comes in from this – part of it falls on the ex’s weekend. My lawyer has been attempting to reach his lawyer to talk about how to handle it. Yet this contact has been being made since Monday and yet – no response. So at this point I will have the middle monkey the whole vacation. Which was not what we were planning but not my problem if his lawyer does not contact and notify him.

I know where is the sympathy?! I don’t have any!
